Bristol Energy is a gas and electricity company that offers fair and transparent electricity and gas tariffs for domestic and business customers across Bristol, the South West and nationwide.

The Big Six energy companies have dominated the energy market for too long. Two thirds of customers across the UK remain on expensive standard variable tariffs, paying hundreds of pounds a year more than they need to.
At Bristol Energy we have an opportunity to engage customers with an alternative way to buy their energy. We can offer electricity and gas at a fair price, and as one of the UK’s first municipal energy companies, wholly owned by Bristol City Council, we are challenging the norm.

We’re very proud to be founded in Bristol, the first city with its own currency and its own energy company. In a new partnership with Bristol Pound, we’re encouraging more people in the city to keep their money local.

Getting smart

This summer, our Smart meter trial will see 1000 homes in Bristol given free access to some of the latest technology, to help them save energy and spend less.

Helping to tackle fuel poverty

By working with expert partners, community groups and local charities, we will reach some of the most vulnerable people, and help them out of fuel poverty.

Powering local businesses

We’ve launched a tariff for business customers. This will initially focus on selected segments within the Micro and SME business sectors, both within the South West and nationally.

Renewable Energy

We support and invest in local renewable generators, to boost the local economy and give our customers the chance to choose a greener energy supply.

My Green Plus is our 100% renewable electricity tariff which means when you join us, you can support green energy and know that your bills will make a positive difference to local people.
